

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) Schellenberg announces his passing, on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at St Paul's Palliative Care, at the age of 74 years. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elaine; and his children, Curtis, Erin (Dan), Sarah and Caleb. Bob will also be fondly remembered by his siblings; Mary Dyck, Leona (Floyd) Richards, Henry (Ann) Schellenberg and Sharon (Maurice) Marchildon. He also leaves behind 9 nieces and nephews; Elaine's children Darryl (Nancy), Kim, Scott (Kathy), 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his parents Dietrich and Anne Schellenberg and brother in law Art Dyck.
Bob was born in Foam Lake SK on January 13th 1947, and was raised on a farm in Parkerview SK before he moved to Winnipeg as an adult. All of his children were born and raised in Winnipeg. Bob accepted Christ and was baptized upon confession of faith in 1979 at Braeside EMC Church in Winnipeg MB. In 2010 Bob met Elaine and they were married in 2011. They lived together in Saskatoon for the last 9 years.
Bob was a strong, quiet man and could often be found volunteering his time. Always remembered for his firm handshake, he enjoyed greeting people at Church. Bob spent many years volunteering at his home Churches, including as an usher, boys Sunday School teacher, dishwasher and many more. He most recently enjoyed his role as chair of the 55+ committee at Cornerstone Church, and he served many years at Siloam Mission in Winnipeg, Bethany Manor and Mennonite Central Committee in Saskatoon.
A private funeral service in memory of Bob will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 1:00pm, at Cornerstone Church in Saskatoon, with Pastor Len Bachiu officiating. A live stream of the service will be available at: https://youtu.be/zxXGnHOZs-M .
Interment will follow at a later date at the Hanley Mennonite Cemetery. Those who desire may make memorial donations in memory of Bob to Mennonite Central Committee (600 45th St. West, Saskatoon, SK S7L 5W9).
