The family of Robert Selzler(Bob)are saddened beyond words to announce the sudden passing of an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother ,uncle, godfather and true friend. He passed at one of his favorite places, Weyakwin Lake. Many many wonderful times were had there, fishing with family and friends.
Bob spent the first couple years of his life in Allan Sask. The family then moved to Saskatoon and that is where he resided till his passing.
At age 21 he began a 38 year very successful career in the real estate/real estate appraisal industry, retiring 8 years ago.
His passions were hunting and fishing. I know now he will have his old fishing partners back (Dan and Terry). He would have also been excited to know that he had been drawn for mule deer and elk in this years big game draw.
Having fun and living life to the fullest was important to him. He had a great sense of humour and he shared that with everyone.
Bob loved his children and grandchildren beyond measure. If there wasn’t two phone calls a day he wondered what was wrong.
We feel cheated that we could not have him with us for many more years but we also know that based on some of the health issues he faced we were so blessed and lucky for the wonderful years we had, so many amazing memories.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Arnold and Rita and brother Gerald. Loving him and missing him forever are his wife Bev of 44 years, his sons Layton(Erin), Jerod(Lee),his grandchildren Jordyn(Brendan)and little Robbie, his brother Al(Gail),his Godson Hudson Janz, all of Bev’s family , numerous nieces and nephews, and many special great friends.
We will be eternally grateful to the Hanna’s for all they did for us on that day and to the people in the lake community who came to help and to our nephew Jay who was there through it all. You are all special people.
We thank our friends Blair and Curt for getting him back safely to his final destination.
Frank Sinatra sang “I did it my way” and Jon Bon Jovi sang “I just want to live while I’m alive”. Bob did those both to the fullest.
We will gather in the fall (his favorite season) to celebrate a life well lived.
So till we meet again “Good Hunting” and Rest In Peace. You deserve it all.
You will never be forgotten.
Cheers!
