Rose M Wasylyniuk

October 10th, 1928 – July 8th, 2016

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Rose, who left us at the Palliative Care - Pasqua Hospital early yesterday morning. She is dearly loved and remembered by her 4 children, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren: Ralph (Peggy) Wasylyniuk - Chad /Regan (Kydran, Oren), Kristine/Sheldon, Evan /Andrea (William); Fran (Vic) Clark – Ria (Alexis); Don (Bev) Wasylyniuk - Michael/Lindsay and Marlys/Paul; Sally (Lorne) Schachtel – Kyle/Dawn (Oaklen), Janelle/Mike(Jax, Gus); sister Victoria Hordos, sister-in-law, Julia Kuhar, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Michael; her parents John and Mary; her brother, Joe Kuhar, sisters Liz (Alex) Sebastian, Mary (John) Fazakas, brother-in-law, Steve Hordos. Rose was born in the Punnichy District and was raised on the family farm in the Mission Lake District, south of Quinton. She loved the farm and loved her horses. Everyone enjoyed her many stories of harnessing six horse hitches early in the morning and working long, hard days in the field. On October 19, 1949 she married Michael Wasylyniuk and together started farming south of Raymore. They enjoyed the many years farming and raising their family. They retired to Raymore in the early 80’s where she enjoyed the garden and especially the grandchildren and their activities. For the past ten years she has been living in Regina. She enjoyed cooking and needlework and excelled in her cinnamon buns and fried chicken. Her memory will be held dear to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pasqua Hospital - Palliative Care Unit in Regina would be appreciated. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 11th at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church (100 Argyle Street, Regina).
