He attained Honour Roll status in addition to the Fermet medal in a Canada wide math competition. Outside school hours he was involved in Navy League and Air Cadets. Russ took Creative Writing courses through Red River College followed by attending a broad range of courses in pursuit of Journalism at the University of Saskatchewan. Russ’s vast knowledge in the hospitality industry provided him many years of enjoyable employment. He loved to write prose, poetry, song writing and pursue band opportunities. In 1998 he welcomed his daughter Hanna Madeline into his life. Most recently his career path has been in the home construction industry. Russel devoted his recent years to raising his boys, Ashton and Jacob.
