Jan 2, 1935 - November 28, 2021
At the age of 86, Sing Eng, also known as Leung Dau Sing passed away peacefully in his sleep. Although he would say he was 87 and his birth was recorded wrong - he was always youthful and enjoyed being called a ‘senior’.
Sing came to Canada from the Guangdong province of China, at the age of 16 to join his dad, Charlie and attend school and learn English as this was one of his dreams. In 1956 he went back to Hong Kong to marry Amy (Chan Sit Fong) and settled in Saskatchewan. He joined his father in the cafe business and then worked at a hotel kitchen. He was the proud father of four children, Jean Toews, Judy Eng-Hum, Donald Eng and David Eng. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Tanner Toews, Shaylen Toews, Tyson Toews, Max Hum, Tia Hum, Evan Eng and Kelly Eng.
Sing was an avid sports tv fan and loved all sports especially hockey. Sing also enjoyed Chinese TV programs, his snacks and Chinese buns. He would always request shortbread cookies, Dairy Queen ice cream and his cream buns.
Sing’s latter years were spent as a resident of Stensrud Lodge in Saskatoon where he enjoyed the company and assistance of the wonderful staff at the centre. Thanks to them for making his last days comfortable.
His wish was to have his children and grandchildren enjoy there time and follow their dreams.
