Stella was born in Davis (close to Prince Albert), and was raised on a farm near Coxby. She attended Buttler’s School with her six brothers and one sister. In 1950, she married Sandy Ballendine and began her married life on a farm north of Weldon where they raised a family of five. After Sandy passed away in 1976, Stella continued to live on the farm. In 1985, she and Derek moved to Saskatoon.
Stella began a new life in Saskatoon and even found love again. She and Don Holland were married on August 13, 1988. Sadly they were not granted a long life together, as Don passed away suddenly a few months later.
She continued to live in Saskatoon until her passing. Stella loved to travel, to go on adventures and road trips with her travelling buddies. As her health continued to decline, she was unable to travel or live on her own any more. In 2011 she moved to Sherbrooke Community Centre where she passed away with loved ones at her side.
