

September 27, 1954 – May 27, 2014
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Terence Hanchar on the afternoon of May 27, 2014 at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. Terence was known as Terry by many friends. Terence was born on September 27, 1954 in Yorkton, SK and lived on the family farm for his first 18 years. The farm was about 5km west of Insinger, SK or 55 km northwest of Yorkton, SK. Terence went to high school in Foam Lake, SK and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1977 from the University of Saskatchewan. After six months in Ottawa, ON, Terence moved back to Saskatoon to work at the Income Tax Department. Terence quit the tax department in the early 80’s to do private tax consulting in Meadow Lake, SK. In the mid 80’s Terence moved back to Saskatoon where he stayed the remainder of his life. For most of those years in Saskatoon he operated Recovery Tax Consultants. Terence was single throughout his life and is survived by his brothers Arnie (Rose) and their children Clayton, Guy and Suzanne and Patrick (Yuri). Terence was predeceased by his father, Theodore and mother, Rose. A Memorial Service will be held on June 7, 2014 at 11:00 am with a Ukrainian lunch following at 101 Clark Crescent, Saskatoon, SK. In lieu of flowers please donate to Stepping Stones Charity (Building an orphanage in Central Mexico) in his memory.
