

Thelma passed away peacefully at St Ann’s Senior Citizens Home on November 13, 2015, at the age of 95. Thelma is survived by her daughter Judy (Rick) Fahl and daughter-in-law Mona Isley, both of Saskatoon; five grandchildren, Jill Isley (Harlan), Stacey Isley (John), Stephen (Renee) Isley, Jennifer (Shawn) Ritchie, Heather Fahl; three great granddaughters; two sisters, Melba Jacobsen, Lorna (Harold) Haid; brother Paul (Iris) Heavin; brother-in-law Vince (Eileen) Isley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bill; son Brian; parents Otto and Emma Heavin; brother Grover; sister Myrtle; and numerous in laws. Thelma was born on December 21, 1919 on the family farm in Melfort. Upon completing her schooling she moved to Vancouver and worked at the Vancouver General Hospital for a number of years. While in Vancouver she met Bill and was married in 1943. They later moved back to Saskatchewan and settled on the farm southwest of Milden where they farmed until retiring to Saskatoon in 1972. She was actively involved in the Milden and Sovereign communities. In retirement she enjoyed sewing and was known for her knitting. Everyone enjoyed receiving her beautifully knitted gifts. Thelma was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. At Thelma’s request there will be no funeral. A private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Coronary Artery Rehabilitation Group (P.O. Box 1401, Saskatoon, SK S7K 3P7) or St. Ann’s Senior Citizens Village (2910 Louise Street, Saskatoon, SK, S7J 3L8). The family would like to thank the staff at St. Ann’s for their love and great care for Thelma the past three years.
