It is with great sorrow and broken hearts that our family announce on Sunday June 2nd the sudden passing of our beloved son, father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, Travis Ryan Pye age 39 at his home in Unity.
Born in Sydney Mines, Nov.14/1984, he was the son of Wanda (Chisholm) Jessome, and Freddy Pye.
Travis was the life of any party, him with them sky blue eyes, killer smirk, the biggest charmer, loved to be a jokester. And of course can’t forget how much of a ladies man he was. His down sides were his strong headedness, his way or no way, never shy, any depending on the situation he could talk his way out of anything! Give him a bottle of pepsi pop, you would see the grateful side of Trav.
Left to mourn are his parents Wanda, Freddy, and step mom Kim. Siblings Freddy, Angella(Rodney), and Ashley(Liam). His beautiful children, son Logan-Alberta, daughter Alexa, sons Dominix and Kadin- Saskatchewan. And his many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends.
At the age of 18, Travis left home to try the Alberta working life. That lasted a few years then he decided to come home once again until he finally settled down in Saskatchewan. During these times he worked as a bouncer, worked on the railroad, pipe lines, and also the oil fields.
Travis, had a hard battle the last few years with his health, changed forever in 2019 as he became a paraplegic (thank you Mom, for taking care of him when he needed you the most) The one things that got him threw it all was that special bond he had with his baby boy Dom, you gave him the strength everyday until his heart just couldn’t anymore.
Travis was preceded by his Grandparents Leonard and Eliza (Prince) Pye, Leonard and Elaine (MacDougall) Chisholm. Step Father Ricky Jessome. Many Uncle, Aunts, and close friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his Unity family, they helped him so much over the years. Kathy, not only were you the mother of the boys but a long friend. Calvin, you were always there for him when he needed someone. Can't forget Shimon, Maria, Roman aka Farmer.
Special thank you to The Cape Breton Boys for given him cheriest memories and good times. And we can’t forget Fallon Rose for always listening and being his long life friend.
No more wheelchair Trav, enjoy them legs! Your finally coming home.
A letter to My Travis
My son who went to heaven
They say there is a reason
They say time will heal
Neither time nor reason
Will change the way I feel
Gone are the days, we used to share
In my heart, you’re always going to be there
The gates of memories, will never close
I miss you more, then anyone knows
Travis I will love you and miss you everyday
Till we meet again my son
Always and forever
Rest in peace Travis
