Trena A. Phenix

Trena Adele Phenix was born December 6, 1979 and sadly passed away on August 31, 2014. Trena is survived by her mother Erna Hannah (Bill), brother Ryan Phenix (Samantha),  brother Robin Holma (Tara), nephews Travis, Zach and JJ, grandmother Tina Paulson, father Mattheu Phenix (Jan), special friend Thomas Pitman, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. Trena attended school at Clavet Composite, College Park and Williams Lake Secondary, University of the Caribou and University of British Columbia. She also started one semester at University of Calgary while beginning her Masters in Education. Trena was the success we all strive to become. She became the Coxswain of the Sea Cadets in Williams Lake. She placed at the top of her class and received a bursary at UBC and achieved 100% in the first semester at her UofC Masters Program. Her first teaching position was in 2003 in Deline, NWT. Her career took her to Patuanak, SK in 2006 where she firstly found passion in the career she had always wanted. Secondly, she fell in love with the students, teachers and Elders. Thirdly, meeting the amazing friends that accepted her into their lives and homes. She learnt to fish, hunt, camp, play doshka and find time to enjoy the campfires and nature along the Churchill River. A quote from Trena's Facebook page, "We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will." Trena lived this quote and found ways to create choices for everyone she met everywhere in her life. Trena was the "pay it forward" woman with heart and compassion for everyone she met.

Memorial donations in Trena's memory may be made out to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan (279 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.) Memorial Service celebrating Trena's life will be held at Circle Drive Alliance Church (3035 Preston Avenue S) on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 1:30pm.
