April 6, 1958 - January 14, 2014
The family announce with sorrow the passing of Dale at St. Paul's Hospital after a lengthy struggle with complications from kidney disease. He endured his suffering with dignity and grace and his loved ones know that he has moved on to his new and spiritual life with God. Dale is survived by his pride and joy, devoted daughters Jessica and Emma, their mother Karen, his parents Mervyn and Marlene Burgess, siblings Jeff(Danita), Christy(Stewart), Cathy(Rick), nieces and nephew Jesse, Stephanie, Danielle, Annika and Anneliese, as well as several much loved aunts, uncles and cousins. Dale was born in Moose Jaw but grew up in Saskatoon where he received his formal education. He attended BCIT where he graduated with a degree in Civil & Structural Engineering Technology and enjoyed his work in that field until illness forced him into an early retirement. He and his former wife Karen raised their daughters in Vancouver, and continued a warm relationship throughout his life. He returned to Saskatoon and spent his remaining years with his family and friends at Cedar Lodge at Blackstrap. The family express there deepest gratitude to the many doctors and nurses who attended Dale during his many months in hospital, as well as Pastor Ron and Pastor David for their spiritual care. He looked upon each one of you as his 'angels'. We thank you. His cremated remains will be interred beside his grandparents at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery west of Moose Jaw, SK at a later date. For any one wishing, the family would appreciate memorial donations for Dale to go to Cedar Lodge, c/o Suzanne Olaski, Box 572, Dundurn, Sask., S0K 1K0.
