

Vern was born in Estevan Saskatchewan October 16, 1928. During his early years he lived in various Saskatchewan towns along the CPR due to his dad’s work. He worked as an upholsterer and helped build the first motel in Weyburn, aptly named the Weyburn Motel! He married Mae (nee Coulthard) in 1951. They moved to Wadena with their young family in 1960 where Vern worked as a Public Health inspector. Vern played the mouth organ, piano, trombone, clarinet and ukulele. He started the Wadena Dixielanders in 1974. When he vacationed in Phoenix, he was very popular as MC at Music Jams. He took up the ukulele when he was eighty-seven.
Vern was pre-deceased by his wife, Mae, parents, Bertrum and Edna Robinson, his siblings Anita, Muriel and Harvey.
Vern is survived by his son, Donald Vernon Robinson in Edmonton and his daughter Susan Robinson Carter (Alan) in Leduc, Granddaughter Kristel Gandey (Joseph) and great grandsons Braden and Aaron. Donations can be made to Diabetes Canada or McClure United Church, Saskatoon in Vern’s name.
