Vivien Lorraine Smith (nee Perkins) was born June 2, 1924 and passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019. Predeceased by her husband Ben, brother-in-law John, son-in-law Dennis and brother Jack. Vivien is survived by her sister Marion; sister-in-law Dee; children Leanne, Brian (Leanna) and Gary (Gloria); grandchildren Lynnai (Jason), Jeannine (Brad), Jeff (Kristi), Darren (Renee), Nicole, and Greg (Jordanna); great grandchildren Dalen, Lyrrah, Ava, Kyleigh, Austin, and Sierra; and many nieces and nephews.
Vivien was raised in Regina, SK and worked for Eaton’s Canada. During the war she moved to Weston, ONT to work in a war plant that manufactured airplanes. Returning to Regina after the war, she resumed work at Eaton’s and spent 40 years with the company both in Regina and Saskatoon. In 1946 she met and married Ben, with their 3 children soon to follow. Vivien loved family, work, baking, knitting, reading, purple, computer games and socializing with family and friends. She took an active role at church organizing ushers, was a member of the missions committee and welcomed all who came to church with her lovely smile and unforgettable hugs. Our family loved her joy of life. She was always ready to play any game that was at the table, to read stories to the children or to be entertained by them. She loved sunsets, clouds, and the beauty that abounded everywhere. She loved life and those who were around her. Her life was filled with activity right to the end. Thanks to all the love and support from family, friends, from Pastor Ronda, and the hospital doctors and nurses over this previous weekend. We give thanks for Vivien’s life. Donations in memory of Vivien are gratefully accepted by Norman Kennedy Presbyterian Church. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Norman Kennedy Presbyterian Church, 5303 Sherwood Drive, Regina SK S4R 7E7.
