We were so saddened and shocked to hear of Wes’ passing. He was such a good friend to Noel and I. No matter how much time had passed from when we had seen him last, he was always so happy to see us. I have so many great memories of visiting Wes and Elaine. They are finally together again. To the family, you are in our thoughts and prayers. May you find peace in time.

I really enjoyed doing aquasize in the pool with Wes. He always had fun stories to share and good music to listen to. May his spirit carry on to further great adventures.

My husband Garry and I knew Wes as a fellow resident in Victoria Place. He was a lively, interesting gentleman with a heart of gold. A great storyteller, we thought he should have written a book about his life and experiences.  With deepest sympathy, Cinda Romuldietz

Wes was always full of stories during aqua class and always went out of his way to say hello.  He was always the person I loved swimming beside because he would sing so loud and it was actually great 💥so it made me sound good.  I’m going to miss his contagious smile and will think of him often as he really was  the life of the pool party 💖💥💖 .  Fly high my dolphin friend and see you when I get there 😎 Till we sing again 🌸

I met Wes at Lakewood Pool Aquafit class about 7 years ago.  He loved talking about his family, railroad stories and politics.  He loved singing along with some  songs, especially Tina Turner.    He made aquafit more fun for sure.  We got in trouble talking a few times!  I miss sending jokes and political memes to him.  I know he loved his family and was a kind and generous person.  He is missed. 
I send condolences to his family and know they miss him.  He is with Elaine and Richard now and at peace.

Many great memories of Wes when he lived in Christopher lake and attended  St. CHRISTOPHER ANGLICAN CHURCH. He was a  member of the choir and deeply involved in our Drama program. . Wes was a very passionate person,He assisted at the school as an advisor to troubled kids.and assisted individuals struggeling with addictions. Wes had a great sence of honour and loved to TALK.

I knew Wes through the aquafitness classes at the Lakewood Civic Centre.  Because we were both most comfortable at the “back of the class,” we shared a lot of conversation.  I got to know him as a warm and caring individual who, during his lifetime, gave back to the community through both his work and in his  personal life.  The stories he shared were almost always sprinkled with humour - I could see how his experience as a stand up comedian was no doubt appreciated by his audiences.  I was aware of his work as a union man for the railroad; I know he took that role very seriously as he championed fairness for his fellow workers.  I remember that he would go to Value Village and purchase (out of his own pocket) Halloween costumes for some of the kids who otherwise might not have had costumes.  And I know quite a bit about the family he was so proud of - from Elaine, right on through to the grandchildren.  I am glad he got to go on the trip with all of you (last minute as it was) in December. 
Such a great guy.  I will miss seeing his big smile and dancing eyes at the pool.  My sincere sympathy to the family.
Rest easy, Wes.  Have an extra helping of potatoes in heaven!

I was saddened to hear of Wes’s passing, as I knew him from my time at Victoria Place, and we spent many mornings in the pool together! He was a wonderful man, and always had a story to tell. I’ll miss him, and my condolences to his family and many friends.

Sincere condolences to the entire family for the loss of such a wonderful man. We have great memories of Wes and Elaine, perhaps the nicest couple you can imagine to have for friends. Together they were fun, kind, sincere and wonderfully funny. Wes was a great workmate and friend. His guidance and support for young workers at CP in Sutherland saved many of their jobs, and his passion for fairness and dignity in the workplace was inspiring. We’re going to miss him terribly but are comforted by knowing he and Elaine are together again, and they  have left us with inspiring memories to remember them by. Rest in peace my friend.
