Bill passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at the age of 81. Born in Prince Albert and raised in Christopher Lake, he had an impressive early career in aviation. Through his extensive work as a bush pilot, Bill fostered his already keen interest in geology and mining development, a career which he then pursued passionately for over half a century. A pillar of Saskatchewan’s mining industry, Bill will be remembered by all who knew him for his incisive mind, bitingly clever wit, and remarkable determination. As an esteemed business mentor with an open door and a welcoming smile, Bill’s generous encouraging nature had a tremendous impact on so very many lives. He is profoundly missed by his loving wife, Sharon, sons, Ken (Angelique) and Tom (Nicole), sister Lois, and by his many grand and great-grandchildren who cherish him dearly. Bill joins his son, Jon, and his brother, Jimmy, in rest. The MacNeill family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at RUH Oncology 6100 and to Home Care by Doctors for the kind care and compassion that they showed Bill. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements in care of Ashley Knash – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
