Born on February 2, 1932, on the Soloway family farm south of Alvena, Saskatchewan, William was the fifth of eight children born to Joseph and Annie (Gaunchar) Soloway. He spent his early years working on the family farm until 1955, when the family relocated to a new farm one mile south of Porcupine Plain.
While working at a bush camp north of Hudson Bay, William met the love of his life, Anne Borowetz. They were married on November 5, 1957, and made their home on a farm northeast of Porcupine Plain, where they raised their two children, Barry and Nadine. Together, they were also blessed with six grandchildren.
In 1962, William began working in drywall alongside farming. Before long, drywalling became his primary occupation, a trade he practiced until 1977. That year, William and Anne purchased the Chelan Hotel, which they operated until their retirement in 1995. In 2014, the couple moved to Saskatoon.
William was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Nadine Veteri (Soloway). He is survived by his loving wife Anne, his son Barry (Marilyn), his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be remembered for his hard work, quiet strength, and deep devotion to his family.
