

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Willie “Bill” Repin on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the age of 91 years 6 months at Stensrud Lodge in Saskatoon. Bill is survived by his son Keith and brother Mike. Bill was predeceased by his parents William and Mary, brother Peter, brother John, and sister in law Mary, sister Mary and brother in law Herb. Bill was born on August 20, 1930 in the Perdue District and grew up in Arlee where he obtained his education. When Bill was younger he and his brothers were avid fastball players, playing at the local sports days around the province. Bill played the position of catcher. Throughout his life Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bill enjoyed playing cards and did actually once get a perfect hand playing crib. As a young man, Bill owned a tandem gravel truck and hauled for the Saskatchewan Department of Highways, also driving snow plow in winter. Bill owned a taxi license and drove for Diamond Grey Cabs later becoming manager. Bill also operated his own roofing business and firewood business, W. Repin Firewood. Bill started working at T.M. Ball Lumber in Saskatoon while still operating his firewood business in the evenings and on weekends. Bill finished his working career with the Saskatchewan Provincial Government as a mail courier in Saskatoon, retiring at age 65. In his retirement, Bill enjoyed traveling extensively with his son Keith. Their adventures took them to Alaska, North Western United States, Western Canada, and Vancouver Island. The family appreciates the kindness and care of the nursing and support staff at Stensrud Lodge and Eamer Court during his stays there. Also thanks to his physicians Dr. Z. Tymchak and Dr. T. Gabruch for their care. In lieu flowers the family requests that donations may be made to Stensrud Lodge, 2202 Mceowan Ave, Saskatoon, SK, S7J 3L6. No funeral service will be held for Bill due to the current Covid-19 conditions, which unfortunately also contributed to his passing. Bill had chosen to be cremated. A portion of Bill’s ashes will be placed on the lake shore by his favorite spot where he can fish for eternity.
