Wilma Regina Spanier

July 1, 1940 – July 4, 2025
Obituary of Wilma Regina Spanier
IN THE CARE OF

Mourning Glory Funeral Services

Wilma Regina Spanier (Kayter) passed away suddenly but peacefully on Friday July 4, 2025 @ 8:30 pm, at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon at the age of 85.

Wilma was born in Cupar, SK on July 1, 1940. Her parents, Julia and Frank had 3 children.

Wilma loved her brother Kelly, (Marion) and Sister Rita (Joe predeceased). Many good people from the Kayter side of the family (nieces and nephews).

Wilma married her husband Don on Oct 12, 1959. They had 3 children, Cathy, Lyle, and Cory (Lana).

Wilma has 2 granddaughters, Andrea and Vanessa along with 3 great grandchildren, Lexy, Addy and Camden.

Wilma spent most of her life caring for her family and loved feeding everyone who came to visit.

Wilma started out as a nurse and when her and Don started their family, she supported Don and his business, being at home, raising their children, later taking on the role of “cook” at KFC.

Wilma was Don’s right hand all their life, including a full-time care person, right up until Don’s health failed him.

She died of a literal and figurative broken heart after her husband, of 65 years passed just 11 months ago.

Wilma and Don were great people and will always be remembered for that.

Wilma requested that no formal service take place.
