47 years of friendship started when I was 20 & Neil 16. The age difference never mattered. We spent many evening together with our Young People group. When together in the car he never tired of playing his Beach Boys & Lobo tapes. We took a trip together, he, I & my future brother-in-law the late Dennis Hall. We bought matching checkered hats & called ourselves the 3 amigos. We married the loves of our lives a year apart & spent time together as young couples. Our kids grew up as friends. As time passed we didn't see each other as much but when we did there was always a smile, a handshake & a hug. My friend, the next time I see you I know there will be a smile, a handshake & a hug! Love you my friend!

As a Servant of God, Neil was more than we deserved, everything we needed and a loving "pathkeeper" to follow. For us, he was a light in the darkness; a voice of calm and comfort in times of chaos and anxiety, a true shepherd who loved God and every soul. No one can replace him, but it is up to those of us who remain to fill-in and carry-on with this same love for God and every soul, as Neil did when his father could no longer do it. God blessed His efforts, making the imperfect man a perfect conveyance of His love and blessing for His people. The sweet legacy of this blessing is God's continuous presence for all those who seek Him. Thank you, Josh and Brothers and Sisters, for doing your part and valuing this blessing and the lasting strength and comfort it provides. May the future bring us all a happy reunion - God be with you all.

The Bishop always had time for me and answered all my questions.
He meant a lot to me and I will miss him very much.
