

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Delmer, with family by his side at the age of 78.
He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife Lynda of over 56 years. Loving father of Jennifer, Scott, Amy, Stephanie, Shawn (Maria), Jonathan (Heather), Graham (late Anthony) and Katelin (Andrew). Proud Grandpa of Ethan, the late Gavin, Alexis, Kayla, Kristen (Dylan), Alexander, Benjamin, Emma, Avery, Owen, Jake, and Charlie. Great Grandpa to Mackenzie, Carter and Marshall. He was son to the late Maartje and Edwin Stephens. He leaves behind his siblings Tom (Luella), Judy (the late Bill and the late Jerry) and Jane (Mike). He will be reunited with his late brother John (Louise). Brother-in-law to Kath, Becky (Keith) and the late Judy. Life-time friends of Al and Gayle. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers from his 55 years at Algoma Steel.
Delmer will be fondly remembered for the love and dedication he had for his family. He could always be found at one of his grandchildren's events, snapping pictures and cheering them on.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Febbraro and her team in the Oncology Unit and the team on 3B at the S.A.H. for their compassionate care of Delmer.
A private family service has taken place. Friends and family are invited to visit Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. - 705 759-2522) on Thursday April 2, 2026 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to Tracy's Dream would be greatly appreciated by the family.
