ALLEN, Fern Ida - With broken hearts Laurie, Lindsay and Louie announce the peaceful passing of our Mother and Grandmother on Saturday, February 14, 2026 in her 100th year on Valentine's Day. An appropriate day for a lady that was filled with love.
Adored and loving Mother to Laurie Dawson (Rusty). Proud Grandmother to Lindsay Collins (Nick), Louie Dawson (Nikki), and the late Kurt Dawson. Special Grandma to Devin McMillan.
Gigi to Clark and Ethan Collins, and Great Grandma to Ella, Charlee, and William (Will) Dawson who all were the absolute light of her life.
Fern was predeceased by her husband Willam Robert Allen "Bud", her parents James and Nellie Murray and Mother-in-Law Lillian Currie Allen.
Sister and best friend of Betty Corbett (late Jack).
Predeceased by her siblings Cora Shackleton (Ernie), Bob Murray, Margaret Merrifield (Curtis), Billy Murray, Carole Murray-O'Neill, and Gloria Murray-Seppala.
Thank you to Jackie and Jay Musselman, and Teresa Corbett for always including Mom in their visits.
Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Godmother to Trudy Johnson (Jim)
Fern always was thankful that Lindsay was a phone call away and could be to her quickly for whatever was needed.
We knew that if we were going to call, there were certain times you couldn't be on the phone. She always waited and was excited to get Louie's call on his way to or home from work.
Fern was always eager to hear about basketball games, volleyball updates, hockey scores, new video games, fishing and different animal tracks. She always was thrilled her Great Grandchildren were happy, busy, and shared their interests with her.
As her family, we are sad she is gone, but celebrate the long and wonderful life she had. Arrangements to be announced at a later date by Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East; 705-759-2522)
A special thank you to the F.J. Davey Home, Apple Orchard 2nd floor for Mom's care and support over the past few months.
In lieu of flowers, donation (payable by cheque or online) to Willowgrove United Church or to Thrive Child Development Centre. Please visit www.arthurfuneralhome.com obituaries section to leave a message of condolence as a keepsake for the family.
