Frank was born in Arnprior, Ontario on June 6, 1926, and moved to Sault Ste. Marie in 1979. He was quite the storyteller, entertaining us all for many years with tales of his time as a kid in the Ottawa Valley, his travels in the Canadian army, his work on construction sites all over Canada and time as a safety inspector with the Ministry of Labour. He was a great example of how important it is to appreciate the simple things in life, like an A&W breakfast, a good round on the golf course, a visit from a friend and a winning game of cards.
He is now reunited with his wife, Mildred, his great-grandson Charlie, and many other loved family and friends. Cherished father of Alan Clouthier (Angela), Geary Clouthier (Patti) and Jo-Anne O'Shea (Mike). Beloved Papa Frank of Derek Clouthier, Ghislaine Clouthier, Alison Gareau, Maggie Gareau (Jamie Henderson), Lauren Gareau (Nolan Punch), Carrie Vaz (Rick) and Dan O'Shea (Holly). His most treasured role was being Big Papa of Maddie (mother Kirsty), Brady, Owen, Connor, Myles, Juno and Rory. Frank will be missed by his very thoughtful and caring surviving siblings Bob (late Carol), Corrine (late Bob Thompson), Larry (Cindy) and Janice (Brian Bonnar) and by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Frank especially treasured his friendships with his late friend Larry Marshall, Scott and Christine Morrow, Ted Gareau (late Nadine) and Stancel Lepinsky (late Andy). He will also be missed by his furbaby Angel.
The family would especially like to thank Drs. Grottoli and Golesic for Frank's care over the past years, Dr. Booth, Cady, Nikki, Amy and the team at the Sault Area Hospital for caring for Frank during his final days and especially Dr. Kargbo for her incredible kindness and compassion towards our family.
A celebration of life will take place in early June and we would welcome anyone who was lucky enough to know and love Frank. Details will follow at a later date.
