Gerald Peter Maich

He lived a life like none other.

The family of Gerald P. Maich announces his sudden passing on Monday, January 5, 2026. Cherished husband of 63 year to Gail and best friend to his sons David and Chris.

Survived by many cousins and in-laws, Murray, Garry (Ana), Wayne (Esther) and Melanie in Canada and Australia.

Born (1938), only child of Matt and Kathy Majic. Gerry was raised and educated in Sault Ste. Marie then proceeded to the University of Windsor (BA) and then the University of Toronto and Osgood Hall where he obtained a Law Degree. He practiced law for 55 years in Sault Ste. Marie.

Gerry had a wonderful sense of humour, he lived a quiet life and did what was fair and best, he had many fond memories of friends and colleagues over the years.

Gerry's family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Sault Area Hospital and Group Health Centre for all the wonderful and compassionate care he received.
