GILBRAITH, Gloria Jean – It is with immense heartache that we announce the passing of Gloria, with her family by her side, on Friday, February 4, 2011 in her 69th year at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice. Beloved wife of Arnold. Much loved mother and best friend forever of Robin Genua (Joe) and Rhonda Gilbraith (Alex Hunter). Beloved, proud, cherished grandma and #1 sports fan of Jason and Brian Genua. Daughter of the late Rose and Donald Leonard. Sister of Gladys Maitland (late Bill), Robert Leonard (Olive), Gerald Leonard (Claire), Gail Sherrard (late Clifford), William “Billy” Leonard (Betty), Mervyn Leonard, Roy Leonard (Patti) and predeceased by Elizabeth “Betty” Luck (late Ed), Bucky Leonard (Pat) and Gordon Leonard. Sister-in-law of Ron Gilbraith (Elsie), Shirley Santa Maria (Carlo), Sharon Dupuis (late John) and predeceased by Charles “Bob” Gilbraith (Viola) and Roland Gilbraith (Ann). Special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Gloria will be sadly missed by her many dearest friends, especially those at the Mapleview Inn. At Gloria’s request, visitation and funeral services will not take place. Cremation will take place. A private service for immediate family will be held. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Patricia Avery, Dr. David Walde and to the most supportive and compassionate staff and volunteers at ARCH. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Daffodil Lodge, Dr. Want, Dr. Shahata, Dr. Sammi, the nurses and radiation technicians at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, Dr. Mossing, Dr. Spadafora, the nurses and staff of Bayshore Home Health, the staff at Community Care Access Centre, the personal support workers at We Care (especially Kathryn and Millie). Gloria touched the hearts of many… and many touched her heart. Her presence will be greatly missed, especially at the arenas, on the fields, at the trailer and in our homes. She was truly GOLD.
