It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the unexpected passing of Isaac at the age of 26. Beloved son of Amanda Boissoneau (Michael Moore) and Paul VanGeest. Cherished grandson to Gordon and Ann-Marie Boissoneau and Martha Krezek (late Stanley) and Dick VanGeest (Margret). Proud and devoted father of Scarlett and Malakai. Treasured brother of Nathan, Trinity, Michael, Joseff (Megan), Sya, Jerrek and Savanna. Step-brother of Adam and Kierston. Special uncle to Lukus, Jakob, Colby, Ryker and Kylah. Adored nephew of Tanya (Adam), Tiffany, Lindsay (Robbie), Dirk (Melissa) and Sya (Mark). He will be truly missed by his cousins Kailyn (Jean-Paul), Carter, Rob, Ethan, Dawson, Bishop, Logan, Terrell, Denver, Miesha, Mason and countless other great-aunts/uncles, extended cousins, family and friends.
Isaac was a proud dad who was very family oriented and dedicated himself to his family. He loved his kids very much; they were his world. At times, he was a man of few words. His warm spirit, gentle hands and giving nature were felt by everyone who knew him. He was a very selfless person who gave more of himself than he was ever asked for. He would often be seen playing, singing, laughing and being silly. Family meant everything to Isaac. Isaac's journey was sometimes hard, yet he persevered and dedicated his life to those who loved him. Traditional ceremonies were a big part of his life. He learned and shared many teachings with his fellow firekeepers, lodge keepers, healers and everyone who surrounded him.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate his journey and honour his life. Isaac will be brought home to 65 Bell St., Garden River First Nation on Sunday, July 13, 2025 for visitation commencing at 12:00 pm until the time of service on Tuesday, July 15 at 1:00 pm. Service will be officiated by Mike Hodgson followed by a burial at Garden River Catholic Cemetery. Feast to follow.
