DE LUCA, Lucia Katia – With heavy hearts we announce that Lucia Katia Deluca, 17 years old, passed peacefully into God’s arms after a courageous battle with brain cancer on November 18, 2010 at Udine Hospital in Italy. Lovingly cherished by her parents Franca (Sicoli) and Aldo Deluca of Osoppo, Italy. Lucia’s pets, Bo, Dumbo, Piuma and Lillo will miss her tenderness and care. Much loved sole granddaughter of Rosario and Maria Sicoli, adored niece of Rosetta (Sicoli) and David McComb of Sault Ste. Marie and Mauro Sicoli of Markham, Ontario. Dearly missed by many relatives in Italy, including grandparents, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends worldwide. Her brief life was celebrated on November 21, 2010 in Venzone, Italy, attended by many visiting relatives and friends. Much of the service was planned by our dear Lucia, including the music and flowers that graced the medieval Duomo Cathedral. To honour and continue her wish for celebration, there will be a memorial service on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Friends may visit from 1:00 pm until a special prayer tribute at 4:00 pm. with Rev. Angelo Oliverio officiating. A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated and wonderful medical teams in Sault Ste. Marie, Toronto and Udine, Italy. Memorial contributions may be made in Lucia’s memory to the Sick Kids-Brain Child and B-Strong Fund. Ha serenamente Iasciato I genitori Aldo e Franca, Bo, Dumbo, Piuma e Lillo, i nonni, gli zii, i cugini e i parenti tutti. I funerali avranno luogo domaini domenica 21 novembre alle ore 14.30 nel Duomo di Venzone, partendo dall’ospedale di Udine. La tumulazione avverra nel cimitero di Osoppo. Il santo rosario sara recitato oggi sabato alle ore 20.00 nella chiesetta di Santa Lucia a Portis. Un grazie di cuore a tutto il reparto pediatrico dell’ospedale di Udine, che ci hanno aiutato e ci sono stati accanto; in particolare il dottor Nocerino “cicerino”, la dottoressa Anna “bambola”, la dottoressa Chiara “sweetie”, il dottor Federico “handyman”, la dottoressa Francesca “puzzetta”, la dottoressa Eva e l’infermiera Laura. Un ringraziamento speciale a “L’associazione Luca Onlus”, agli assistenti domicillari e alla dottoressa Fabiola “prezzemolo”.
