BOURGOIN, Yolande Marie Jeanne (nee Robitaille) – It is with enormously heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Yolande Marie Jeanne Bourgoin “Yoyo” (nee Robitaille) on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in her new home at the Ontario Finnish Resthome in Sault Ste. Marie at the age of 84.
Yolande left behind a large legacy and moved on to be welcomed into heaven and re-united with her late husband Rosair Laurier Bourgoin.
Yolande was a pious woman with a heart of gold, and a tremendous love for the Lord.
Her heart belonged entirely to her beloved husband of 66 years, which they shared in deep everlasting love.
She always found a way to brighten the lives of those around her. Her constant positivity, care and concern for those in need, gave her the ability to see the good in everyone.
Being a woman of great faith, she truly lived the values of Jesus as she touched the lives of everyone she met. She lived her life with integrity, dignity, respect and an unmatched level of humility. She would never hold any ill will, and would be so quick to forgive anyone, with her unconditional love. She was a one of a kind confidant who would offer great advice, leaving you feeling secure and reassured. She valued love, friends, and family above almost all else.
Along with life’s simple joys, she loved long walks, the beauty of the outdoors, singing and playing music with friends and family, laughing and joking.
If she wasn’t gardening flowers or cooking delicious meals, she would be praying for the prosperity and well being of all those near and dear to her, as well as all who needed it.
She devoted her life to the care and support of her husband, and her large family, children; Rosanne (Andre), Pauline (Louis), Daniel, Marc (Luisa), 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, all of whom she will be greatly missed.
She will always be remembered by our family as a saintly wife, mother, and grandmother. May she forever live in our hearts and minds as she walks with Jesus Christ, in the loving light of God.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at La Paroisse Sainte-Marie-du-Sault (847 Trunk Road) for funeral service at 11:00 am, Father Robert Mugisha officiating. Reception to follow. Yolande will be laid to rest with her husband, Rosair in the Holy Sepulchre Columbarium. Memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-759-2522).
