Mayor John Rowswell

have a memory or condolence to add?

September 9, 2010

Mayor John was a man of vision, committment and tenacity. I have to admit, when I first met him, I found him to be intimidating; no, actually, quite a bit intimidating. But, in time, my respect for him continued to grow with each passing year. I especially appreciated how he would acknowlege Councillors at the various civic functions that we attended.
Mayor John had accomplished a great deal; and sadly,he had a lot more things he wanted to do for Sault Ste. Marie. I know he would have made a "huge" impact as our next MP, but now we'll never know.
My wife Pina and I wish Donna and her entire family peace, strength and comfort in knowing that John was a great man and will live on in the memories of all Saultites.

To the Rowswell family, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy on the loss of a husband, father and grandfather. While working on the Teen Center, Mayor John was most helpful and as a parent at Grand View School is was a pleasure to have the family's support.
My prayers are with you all as you grieve this loss.
