BARKLEY, Norma (nee Rydall) – It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing at the Sault Area Hospital of our beloved mother and grandmother on January 14, 2014 in Sault Ste. Marie at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Keith Barkley (2007). Loving mother of Valerie Uchmanowicz (Karol), Derek (Marilyn) and the late Dean (1980). She will also be greatly missed by her ‘adopted’ son, Weldon Clark. Cherished and much loved by her grandchildren Marcy Clark (Mitch), Greg Nicholson (Terri), Erika Uchmanowicz, and Ashley and Nancy Barkley. Great Gramma to Rylee, Michael, Aidan and Isabella Clark and Charlotte and Declan Nicholson. Beloved and special sister to the late Bryan Rydall (Isabel), Barry Rydall (Greta), late Mona Headrick (Ken), late John Rydall (Kathy), Carl Rydall (Virginia), Gail Abelson (Jim), and Darwin Rydall (Regina). Sister-in-law of the late Warren Barkley (late Betty). Special aunt of many nieces and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by her best friend Earla Maahs (Cecil). Mom was a special person who loved her family more than life itself. She had many friends and was a kind and gentle soul and wonderful person to all that knew her. The family would like to convey our deepest thanks to the wonderful nurses in Emergency and Section 3B of the Sault Area Hospital and to Dr. Keating for the compassionate care they gave our dear mother during her short stay in the hospital. The family invites friends and family to a celebration of Mom’s life to be held from 1-5 pm at the Echo Bay Elks Hall on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Arrangements for Mom’s care and spring burial in Maple Leaf Cemetery in Echo Bay have been entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 705-759-2522.
