I had moved to Windsor around the same time as Phil in the early 90’s so he and I became close friends that shared the adventure of first time experiences and we had a pile of them, from clubbing to restaurants and all the things a new city could offer. I soon decided to open a cafe shortly after moving to Windsor and Phil was more than just a regular he would bring along with him his character and provide my establishment with miles of ongoing laughter, with an ear that would listen to you when you needed that someone too. This is one segment of many flashbacks I have in memory of our friend as I will add more in the coming years. 
There are few people in life you could call a bestie and mean it but he was mine and I miss him dearly!

I was actually looking online to try and find Phil because I hadn't seen or heard from him in awhile. I cannot believe he is gone. He was very special to me and I miss him so much. This is a shock and a unbelievable sad day for me. I would just like his family to know that he was well liked in Windsor and he was a very special person to me. We are saddened to hear of Phil's passing. He was always a joy to be around. He was our son Shawn's best friend till their careers took them to different places.We will always remember our happy times with Phil & miss him more than words can say. Our condolences to all his family.

It was with deep sadness that we read of the passing of Phil. Phil was the best friend a person could have and I had the privilege of sharing countless life experiences with him as we grew up together. He was always there for me and I owe a great deal to his continued support through the years. He was also a dear friend and real estate colleague of Suzanne and through Phil's perseverance we met and continue to be happily married. Miraculously, Phil was able to find us several years ago living in the rural outskirts of Ottawa by simply driving on the lookout for the family vehicle. Somehow he found us and after we overcame our surprise we enjoyed a wonderful weekend together. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of great loss. Phil will be missed, but always kept close to our hearts.

I have always been grateful for my parents shipping Scott, Jen and I up to the Soo during our childhood summers.  This allowed us to get to know all our Barbeau relatives. We have such wonderful memories, ALL of which include Phil. Every funny story I tell of my summers in the Soo start off with "my cousin Phil..."  He was always so entertaining, and so very sweet.  Although we hadn't seen Phil for a long while, our memories of him have been, and will forever be, stored safely in our hearts.

I am so sorry to hear of Phil's passing. He and I were close during our important formative years between the ages of 12 and 16. Although we have been out of touch for most of the last 25 years, I can't think back on that time of my life without being flooded by many wonderful thoughts and memories of Phil.  He has been and always will be remembered fondly.  My sincerest condolences go out to you at this time.
