HAMILTON, Robert Ian - Robert Ian Hamilton of 63 Fauquier Avenue, Sault Ste. Marie, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Born on September 15, 1927 in Toronto, Ontario to the late Henry C. (Harry Sr.) Hamilton and Lorraine Hamilton (Irwin) of Sault Ste. Marie. Brother of the late Malcolm and Harry Hamilton. Survived by his wife Sheila Ruth Hamilton (Hollingsworth). Father of Leslie Ruth Hamilton-Navarro (Lloyd, Pinehurst, North Carolina), Douglas Ian Hamilton (Toronto, Ontario) and Holly-Bruce Hamilton (Yvonne, Deep River, Ontario). Grandfather of Megan Asta Lorraine Hamilton and Robert Douglas Hamilton. Brother-in-law of Diane Swanson (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario) and June Hamilton (Toronto, Ontario). After graduating with a Civil Engineering degree from Queens University, Ian decided that law was his true calling and followed with his law degree in 1954. He practiced law in the Sault for 53 years until 2007. A private ceremony will be held at the family home.
