BOT, Romano - Peacefully in his sleep at the F.J. Davey Home on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in his 71st year.

Much beloved husband of Chrissie for 41 years. Much loved father of Heather Bot (Rob LaRue) and Buck Bot. Cherished Nonno of Bridget LaRue. Beloved brother of Mario Bot (Jenn) and Mary Boal (Rob). Predeceased by his parents Giuseppe & Adele Bot and son-in-law of the late Colin and Eileen MacMillan. Loved brother-in-law of Marnie Suddaby (Jim) and Lorna Patterson (Don). Dear uncle of Patrick Boal(Nikki), and Sarah Boal (Josh); Stephen Patterson (Nicole), Shawn Patterson (April), Scott Patterson (Sylvie); Allan Suddaby (Lisa), Liz Suddaby and Ray Suddaby. Uncle to many great nieces and nephews.

Romano came to Canada in 1953 from Italy. He was proud of his Italian heritage and also proud to become a Canadian. He worked for Algoma Steel for 40 years before retiring in January 2011. He loved to help his friends and neighbours in any way he could. He loved to play golf and to cheer on his beloved Yankees. Romano was happiest when spending time in his garden and with his family.

To the family and friends who supported us during Romano’s illness, thank you for the phone calls asking how we were, the talks over cups of coffee and the shoulders to lean on. To the staff of the F.J. Davey Home, especially those on Apple Orchard 3 and Cedar Grove 3, and Activities Jess & Jen, thank you not only for the care and compassion you showed to Ro during the last 4 ½ years but for the support you gave to us as family. It was so appreciated.

A private family service will be held at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E 705-759-2522). Friends are invited to view the service online starting at 11 am on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 and can be viewed anytime up to 90 days. Go to and select Romano's name to view the service. Rev.
