We are deeply heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of Sharon at ARCH on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
Mom grew up on a farm in Dunn’s Valley and was born to Gertrude (nee Blackwood) and Oswald Black. Dearly loved wife and soulmate of Marvyn for 58 wonderful years. Their life was full of trips and adventures, many with their fur baby Roxy. Best friend and loving mom to Shawna Campbell (Joseph) and Wendy Campbell (Dennis). Proud and loving Mimi to Nicholas (Chantale), Matthew, Zoey (Kody) and Shelby. Mom delighted in being a great Mimi to Everett, Joshua and Layla. She was predeceased by her 10 loving siblings. She will be missed by many other extended family and friends.
Mom loved the country and she and dad would often drive around “down the line” on the backroads. There was nothing she loved more than being with her family, from having her own daughters to watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and delight in their presence. She rarely missed a soccer or football game, school event, and was a proud member of the 'Grandmas Squad' at many out of town ringette tournaments which her granddaughters played for years. There was never a more competitive game player than mom and she took pride in teaching the grandchildren board games and card games with no wins just because- you had to earn it. Mom had a love that emanated for babies and she was always the one that they would gravitate to, especially her grands and great grands. Mom and dad spent most of their retirement years travelling all over in their trailer and would often do month long trips or longer across Canada and many other places. We cherish our family vacations we were able to take with them.
Mom was happiest when she could help others. She was a long time member of the UCW committee at Central United Church where she spent many years volunteering in any role they needed. She belonged to the Seniors Active Living Centre where she made many friends, volunteered and tried just about any activity they put on. She loved her role as a member of the Lakeshore Kiwanis Club. Mom belonged to book clubs and loved going to the library. Mom enjoyed many other activities such as pickleball and line dancing.
Special mention to our Aunt Nancy Tibbles, cousin Sue Jones and friends Terry Lou Legros and Diane Brown for their love of Mom and spending time with her at ARCH. It was so greatly appreciated. Many thanks to Mom's numerous nieces, nephews and friends that stopped by to visit or send us a note it truly made her days.
Mom’s biggest legacy is her unwavering love and support to us all. She was happiest when we were all together. She will be missed beyond measure and we will treasure our memories.
“We will talk to the stars when we are lonely as you will be the one shining brightest above."
A special thank you to the amazing team at ARCH and Dr. Booth. The dignity, care and love Mom received, as well as to our family is beyond words. A.R.C.H. operates on many volunteers and an invaluable staff.
