

Alice Marie Bouknight, 93, of Savannah and widow of M. Mayer Bouknight, died, Thursday, April 30 at her home. She was born on February 26, 1922 in Eaton, Michigan, a daughter of the late Clifford Irving Brunger the late Ethel Gould Brunger. Mrs. Bouknight was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church. She always worked hard on behalf of her church in such roles as Sunday school teacher, organist, piano player, UMW President, treasurer and book lady. She taught at Bible Baptist School and other schools in Michigan. Alice was an avid bowler and in her younger years loved to fish and hunt. She loved her home state of Michigan. Her family was very important to her and she loved them all. Alice is survived by her daughter Mary Howard and her husband Thomas Howard of Savannah; son, Dan Bouknight and his wife Gail Bouknight of Edmond, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Dana Bouknight and her husband Jacob Edwards, Jordan Bouknight and his wife Ashley Bouknight, Greg Bouknight, Julia Mote and her husband John, Katie Bouknight; great grandchildren, Emma Darrow, Ella Mote and Jeremiah Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, M. Mayer Bouknight and her son, Lon K. Bouknight. Visitation will be held from 5 till 8 o' clock, Monday, at Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel - 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 o'clock at White Bluff United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend John Haney. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
