Eileen Carellas, his wife of 72 years, had just visited with him on Sunday, feeding him watermelon and watching football. Born to George P. Carellas and Demetra Leopold Carellas. Papou is survived by his son George & daughter-in-law Michelynn (Mike) Carellas, Gina Carellas & Marina Miller, Tommy & Kara Huff, Mallory Carellas & Aaron Lembo, Alex G. Carellas & Ruth Cetchovich, Paul & Sally Hammock, Coule Carellas, and Rhonda Barrymore. There are also great granddaughters Rebecca, Tyler, and Jordan Huff as well as many, many wonderful, loving nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
Papou enjoyed a wonderful life of fun and laughter with friends and family. If you were not family, then you were his friend. His sweet and gentle spirit seemed to touch everyone. He proudly served in WWII with his four brothers, and all returned. He was a natural salesman, and everyone loved Tony. He especially loved Eileen, his family, his friends, Grace Church, and Georgia Tech. He lived a simple life according to the Golden Rule… and what a difference that made in so many lives.
Special heartfelt thanks: Nursecare of Buckhead and Bobbie Brooks, a special member of our family, friend, and caregiver.
