
Carol Jeanette Finn Robertson died April 4th at home after a long illness. She was 68 years old. Mrs. Robertson was born December 19, 1943 in Waycross, Georgia and raised on Saint Simons Island, Georgia.
She was the daughter of the late Richard Cedric Finn and Mary Barry Finn of Saint Simons Island. She was the granddaughter of the late Earl Harvey and Josie Peele Finn of Waycross, Georgia. After graduation from Glynn Academy, she studied art at the Island Art Center under nationally know artist Bill Hendrix. She was later selected for a multi-country art study tour to further her education.
She married Robert Kenyon Robertson of Waycross, Georgia at Christ Church Frederica on May 11, 1968.
She is survived by her husband, Kenyon Robertson, daughter Brandi Robertson Waters (Emerson) and three grandchildren, Sawyer, Tensley and Grace Waters. She also has three sisters, Anne F. Shoemaker (Sid) from Alexandri, Va., Victoria Finn from Philadelphia, Pa. and Richie F. Reid (David) from Great Falls, Va.
Carol’s passion for art continued throughout her life in Savannah. She had a studio “Morning Light” in City Market for many years where she had both commercial and residential clients. She designed and constructed art glass doors for the Desoto Hilton Hotel in downtown Savannah. She also was an accomplished sculptor and painter but her passion was mixed media glass.
A Memorial reception for Carol will be held at Captain Butlers, 115 Penrose Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31410 Friday April 13th at twelve o’clock in the afternoon. Pastor Bobby Awtrey of the Lighthouse Baptist Church will be present at the reception. Remembrances can be sent to the Robertson’s residence at 17 Suncrest Blvd., Savannah, Georgia 31410.
