

She was born in Telfair, Georgia, and was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer David “Jack” Gatch, her parents, Joe Wheeler Quick, and Josie Flakes Quick; and a grandson, John Gatch.
She was a former member of C.P. Miller United Methodist Church, and then united with Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church, until it closed; and then became affiliated with both Southside Baptist Church, and Bible Baptist Church.
In 1961 she opened 39th Street Florist, and operated it until she moved to 830 Derenne Ave in 1974 and opened “Gatch Florist”. Catherine and Jack Gatch were well loved by all of their customers and friends, always willing to go the extra mile, to help a family in need.
She is survived by 3 sons, Elbert D. Gatch, Charles Donnie Gatch (Jackie), and Joseph David Gatch; a brother, Charles Louise Quick (Becky) of Jacksonville, Fla; 3 sisters, Margie Q. Lively, Waynesboro, Ga; Gladys Q. Gallup, Atlanta, Ga; and Ollie Mae Q. Garza of Augusta, Ga; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Visitation: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Friday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Dr. Herbert Hubbard, officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
