Mr David Jay Spikes

He was born in Savannah, Ga., and was a Graduate of South Effingham County High School, in Springfield, Ga. He enjoyed playing in the Band, and also playing football.

He was a Chef, with B & D Burgers and was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Spikes.

He is survived by his mother, Cathy Collins Spikes, of Savannah, Ga; and a sister, Melanie Elizabeth Spikes of Savannah, Ga.,, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gettis Spikes, and many friends.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Fairhaven Funeral Home – Hubert C. Baker Chapel.

Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Bible Baptist Church, with Dr. Charles G. Cooper, Sr. officiating. David will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. Friday to lie in state.

Interment: Effingham Memorial Gardens on Highway 119 in Springfield, Ga.
