Detmer Merle Stalker Sr.

Mr. Detmer Merle Stalker, Sr., age 85, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Pruitt Health Savannah. He was a native of Butler, Pennsylvania and had lived in Savannah since 1985. Mr. Stalker was a member of Marshview Bible Chapel in Midway, Ga. He was a Veteran of the United States Marines having served during the Korean War. He enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family. Mr. Stalker was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Freda Stalker, his sister, Althea Cussey, and his step-son, Michael Beasley.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Beasley Stalker of Savannah; five children, Rev. Kathie Stasko (George) of Atlanta, Carol Dowey (Jim) of Akron, Ohio, Vonnie Stalker of Akron, Ohio, Detmer Merle Stalker, Jr. of Canton, Ohio, and William R. Stalker (Sonya) of Akron, Ohio; three step children, F. Daniel Beasley (Peggy) of Nashville, Tennessee, Vicki Coggin of Richmond Hill, GA, Mary E. McLaurin (Melville) of Richmond Hill, Georgia, ; one brother, Roy Stalker (Harriet) of New Castle, Pennsylvania; seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Marshview Bible Chapel in Midway, GA. with Ken Williams officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Bible Chapel or Marshview Bible Camp, P.O. Box 344, Midway, GA 31320.
