Eugene Harrelson Fountain

Gene, husband of Alison, father of Harris and Haley shared 54 years of love and joy with his family and friends. A graduate of Benedictine Military Academy in the Class of 1978 (playing baseball and football all four years). Gene attended Georgia Southern University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was a partner in Coastal Management with facilities in Georgia and South Carolina.

Gene cherished living on the water; he was an avid deer hunter and eagerly looked forward to annual hunting seasons; he enjoyed gatherings with family and with friends, and he was passionate about his work to which he was extremely devoted.

A member of Southside Baptist Church, Gene served his Lord and the church on various committees. Prior to his illness, he was a member of Savannah Quarterback Club and Long Branch Hunting Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Alison Sutherland Fountain, a son Harris Fountain (Krista); a daughter Haley Fountain Finch (Hunter) of Charlotte, N.C.: and his precious granddaughter Addie. He is also survived by his parents Ralph and Carolyn Fountain; a sister, Jill Fountain Robertson (John); a brother Edward Fountain (Joann); his in-laws Bill and Janice Sutherland; Brian and Tara Curren; and Johnny Sutherland; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a large extended family.

A service to celebrate Gene’s life will be held at 11 O’clock on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Southside Baptist Church.

The family will receive visitors prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Interment: Private.
