

Florida DeLong D'Arco, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Hospice Savannah. She was born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, on July 2, 1919 and moved to Savannah in 1996. She was a communicant of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Prime Timers and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her son, Roger E. DeLong, and daughter-in-law, Joan R. DeLong, of Beaufort, South Carolina. One sister, Doris Lowther, of Savannah. Two grandchildren, Deborah A. Anderson, and husband, Kenneth A. Anderson, Jr., of Ridgeland, South Carolina and Gary J. DeLong, and wife, Patricia DeLong, of Bluffton, South Carolina. Four great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Fairhaven Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, 11500 Middleground Road, Savannah, on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Monsignor Francis Nelson officiating. Burial: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011 at the Beaufort National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, Georgia, 31416.
