I will always remmember this kind and gentle educator. Ms. Kennedy was my Bible teacher at SHS and I remember how she would read the scriptures with such grace. She will forever be remembered as a loving individual.

Praying for the Kennedy Family, Mrs. Kennedy was my English teacher in my senior year 1982.  I appreciated her patience that she took with me cause she could tell that I didn't like literature and she helped me alot, thank you.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of my 12th grade English teacher. May God give her eternal place.

It was a joy and a great blessing to sit at the feet of this very special lady!
The love of her Lord was evident in all she taught us at SHS. I will never forget the class that was offered on the Bible. She made the Scriptures relevant to life and influenced me in so many positive ways.

After reading Rafe's message, I felt the need to relate another story about Miss Kennedy that affected me.  I was 17 and in my senior year of high school and had Miss Kennedy for English.  We were talking one day about "what I planned to do with my life" and I told her that I liked working with children.  Her parents had a Day Care off of Montgomery Cross Road and she suggested that I go there and talk with her mother, the owner of the Day Care.  I did, and I got my first job, working after school in that Day Care.  Miss Kennedy's parents and her sister were absolutely delightful people and I remember them fondly to this day.  Everytime I ride down Montgomery Cross Road, I glance down that road and think of the Kennedy's.  I was a helper there in my senior year after school and through the summer.  I still remember some of the children and the teachers but I always think of Miss Kennedy, one of the kindest, most caring teachers that I was blessed to have as a teacher.  She really cared about her students and it showed.  My Mother was also a teacher and I saw from the other side how much work they did after hours, grading papers, preparing lesson plans, report cards, meeting and talking to parents, PTA... they gave so much.  I wonder, of all the students that Miss Kennedy taught, just how many were influenced to become a teacher because of Miss Kennedy's example.  Quite a number, I should think.  
So rest now, in our Lord and Savior's arms, Miss Kennedy.  The final bell has rung and your job here on earth is done.  Well done, good and faithful servant.   You will be missed here on this earth.

My condolences to the family.  Mrs. Kennedy was my english teacher at Savannah High in 1975. She was very supportive of some of my ideas as I was growing up.  Great teacher!

I was very honored to have Miss Kennedy as my senior English teacher in 1974.  She was an awesome teacher.  She will be missed by so many!!!

I was blessed to have Ms. Kennedy as my English teacher when I was a student at SHS. I really enjoyed her class. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

What a very special person she was.  I being a friend of her sister never wanted to have her for a teacher.  When I started high school, I went to Groves High where she was teaching.  It was scheduled for me to have her for English.  I went to her and asked if she could get me out of her class because it would be too awkward for me when I spent the week-end with her sister, Andrea.  She did and I was so greatful.  Later on when I  transferred from Groves to Savannah High I had the same problem because she was teaching there.  She again helped me out when I was assigned to her class once more.  Finally at the beginning of my senior year, I was once more assigned to her class.  I went to talk to her, upon entering the classroom she looked at me and said NO!!!.  I asked what that meant and she replied "Don't even ask.  I am going to make sure you know something by the time you graduate".  I had her for senior English and enjoyed it very much.  She was a wonderful person and will be missed greatly.  I am still very very close to Andrea ,her sister, and I know how much she loved and took care of her big sister.  Andrea you are a wonderful caring and Godly person and I wish for you a means to cope with everything and keep your memories close.  I'm just a phone call away and not too many miles that I can't be there if you need me.

My sincere sympathies to the family of Ms. Kennedy. I had the honor and privilege of having her as my English teacher in my senior year at Savannah High. She was a great teacher and wonderful person.

Miss Kennedy was a wonderful teacher who had the most amazing way of capturing the attention of her pupils.  I'm so privileged to have had the opportunity to be one of her students. My condolences to her family.

She was my English teacher at Savannah High in 1963. I am sorry for the loss to her family.

I remember Miss Kennedy as my English teacher in my senior year.  She was a remarkable woman.  I wish I had've told her back then what an incredible teacher she was and the impression she made upon me.  My sympathies to her family.

To the Kennedy Family,

Ms. Kennedy was my English teacher at (the original!) SHS, 1967-1969, and I never had a better or more caring teacher.  I had just transferred from BC, and she not only made me feel welcome, she made special efforts to reach out to me, from time to time, when I needed it.

Two things I will never forget about those classes.  It was apparently her practice to ask incoming students to write a sentence or two about themselves, at the beginning of the year, to help her get to know us.  Smart-mouth that I sometimes was, at the time, and proud of my vocabulary, I wrote that  I was sometimes "a bit loquacious."  (i.e., talkative)  She didn't miss a beat;  and got me back double, two years later, when she signed my senior annual by saying that she had enoujed having me in her classes both years, "in spite of my loquacity!"  I nearly fell on the floor.  And was astounded that she had remembered that, from two years and hundreds of classes ago.

The other time, in senior English, we were discussing Renaissance music and art, and she asked us in the class what our favorite types of music were.  Then she asked us if anyone had any idea what her favorite type of music was?  The Holy Spirit put the words in my mouth, and I opened it and spake them, before I knew what I was doing, and uttered, "The Mormon Tabernacle Choir!"  I had no idea where those words came from;  and the rest of the class looked at me like I was a madman (something they had no doubt long suspected).  But she freaked all of us out -- me most of all -- when she looked directly at me, with pure astonhishment, and said, "That's absolutely right!  How did you know that?!"  I sat there, dumfounded, while the rest of the class looked at me in utter amazement.  ("How did he DO that?!") 

SHS had a lot of really great teachers, back then, and I was truly blessed that my parents moved me there, the last two years of my high school years.  It was absolutely the best thing that could ever have happened to me.  I made lots of friends, fell in love with a beautiful girl, joined lots of clubs, and grew in so many ways I could never have imagined.... And through it all,standing quietly in the background, was Ms. Jackie Kennedy: quietly regal, always composed, setting us an impeccable example.  I am so grateful I had the opportunity to be in those two classes of hers, I cannot begin to tell you.  And I am sure she touched many other kids as irrevocably as she did me.

My life was never the same after that.  And I would not be the person I am today if I had not had those two years at Savannah High School. They were probably the two most important years of my entire life.

My prayers ascend to heaven with her spirit, and I give thanks that God saw fit to bless my path with hers, all those years ago.
