Mr. James David Goede

Goede, James David, 74, retired Master Sergeant of Tucson, AZ, passed away Wednesday, January 01, 2014, at his home in Savannah, GA. Born October 01, 1939 in Columbus, Nebraska, to the late Carl Goede and Dorothy Johnson. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1978 as a Master Sergeant with 21 years of military service. Following his retirement from the armed forces, he completed 18 years of civil service at Davis Monthan Air Force Base. Jim was a highly respected man with a love for family, guns and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his two sons, James David Goede Jr. and Joseph Daniel Goede of Omaha, Nebraska. He is survived by his brother Dan Goede of Federal Way, WA, his wife and best friend Kathleen Goede of Savannah, GA, his son Ryan Goede of Ft. Bragg, NC, his daughters Kippy “Smushy” Comstock, Jennifer Masuch of Savannah, GA, Susan Graham of Tucson, AZ, Melody Goede of Sherman Oaks, CA, and known as “grumpa” to his grandchildren, Austin, Hayden, and Gracyn. A memorial service will be held at Savannah Christian Church Thursday, January 08, 2014 and full military honors will be rendered at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, NE.
