

He was the first born son to Helen and Emmanuel Yost in rural York County, PA on September 25, 1928. He graduated from West York High School, West York, PA in the class of 1946.
He worked with an electric wholesale firm in York, PA. When North Korea attacked South Korea, he enlisted in the U.S. Air force and was stationed at Hunter Air Force base in Savannah. He was honorably discharged in August 1954. On September 11, 1954, he married Fredna Margie Lewis at the Bull Street Baptist Church. They moved to Winter Park, FL, where he worked for Florida Power until he retired. Both Mr. and Mrs. Yost are members of Calvary Baptist Temple. He was a 15 year volunteer at the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum and became 1st Vice President of Birthplace Chapter at the museum in 1997and served as Vice President in 1998. Mr. Yost was a Mason and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite. He became a Shriner at the Alee Temple Shrine and served as Past Recorder in 1994. He served for two years as President of the Alee Shrine Greeter Unit in 2008 and 2009.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Fredna Yost of Savannah; brother, Hedley E. Yost of Shelburne Falls, MA; brother-in-law, Cleon Lewis (Nancy) of Savannah; nephews, Craig S. Lewis (Kathy) of Savannah, Chuck Lewis (Karla) of Macon, GA, Cary A. Lewis (Francois) and Chad E. Lewis, both of Atlanta, GA; six great nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 o’clock, Thursday, July 30 at Fairhaven Funeral Home- Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive. The funeral service will follow at 6 o’clock in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private.
