

She was a native of Savannah, and a Charter Member of Savannah Christian Church where she sang in the Adult Choir, taught children’s Sunday school, and served on the cooking team. She was retired from Sears.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Sapp, her mother, Thelma Sercer, and two siblings, John F. Sercer and Georgia S. Thorn.
She was a loving mother to Dianne Brown (Jim), Paula Godbee (Barry), and Donna Douglass (Wes); two sons, John Hendry Jr., (Dianne), and Walter Hendry (Donna); grandmother to 16 grandchildren, including Michael Butler (Whitney), Jennifer B. Milby (Derek), Brandi Godbee, Hollie Godbee, Dax Williams (Amber) and Matthew Douglass and “Nana” to 16 great grandchildren, including Hailey, Hannah and Marshall Williams, Christopher and James Butler. She also leaves to cherish memories, Sister Helen Stokes, several nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Visitation and viewing will be Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 5 – 7 p.m.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest West Cemetery.
