Mrs. Sylvia Starling Rogers

Sylvia Starling Rogers, age 68, passed away on June 7, 2012 at Hospice Savannah. Sylvia was born October 12, 1943 in Savannah to the late Erroll Leon Starling Sr. and Rita Davis Starling. She worked for over 10 years as a Paraprofessional for the Effingham County Public School System until her retirement in 1991. She was a homemaker, and loved and cherished her time with her family. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by not only her parents, but also her sister Josephine Starling Cutchen. She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of over 47 years Derrick Rogers, daughters Darlene Sheffield (James) and Traci Sapp

(David), grandchildren Courtney Sheffield and Logan Sapp, all of Guyton, brother Erroll “Leon” Starling, Jr. (Mary) of Savannah, and several nieces and nephews. . The family would also like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Hospice Savannah for their love and support. Visitation will be held from 2-3pm on Sunday, June 10, in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home and Crematory, 2794 W. US Highway 80, Garden City, with Funeral Services being held at 3pm with Rev. David Blalock officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be James Sheffield, David Sapp, Len Morgan, Randy Oliver, Sidney Rogers, and Skipper RogersRemembrances may be made to Hospice Savannah.
