William George Connelly Sr.

William George Connelly Sr. May 28, 1950 - September 10, 2014 -SAVANNAH - Bill was born in Corning NY and spent his childhood in Rochester NY. His parents died at an early age and in 1964 he moved to Savannah to live with his Uncle Ed Connelly. Bill graduated from Carlisle Military School in 1969 and went to work for Union Camp Corp where he worked as a crane operator until he retired in 2005. Bill was member of Ferguson Ave Baptist church. Bill was preceded in death by his son Adam in 2007. He is survived by his wife, Gwen, of 45 years, 2 sons William Connelly Jr (Michele) of Navarre FL and Richard Connelly (Melanie) of Pooler, GA, 1 grandson Eric and 4 granddaughters Sydney, Taylor, Erin and Brooke as well as a brother, James Connelly (Karen). Visitation: 2 - 5 p.m. Sunday, at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
