I would like to send my deepest condolences from the London family in Ottawa. As a child, I remember so vividly the happiness that came whenever Uncle Al and my dad, Anselm London, would talk on the phone.  “Alllllllllford!!!!!”  Oh, how I can still hear my dad’s happy LOUD voice, when they caught up on the latest bacchanal in Tobago. Uncle Al’s, wonderful smile, strong gentle demeanour and good ol’ West Indian companionship made a huge impression on me as a little girl.  What a wonderful gift that is. Thank you for your gentle love you showed my brother and I as kids.  Rest well.❤️

Alford Williams aka “Byce”, My BIG Brother/Pal/Buddy.


Always the Master  carpenter\joiner, Caribana Bake & Saltfish man, 'All Fours' all-nighter.

For decades Alford was in the parking lot on Caribana morning with the Trinbago Posse sharing his Bake and saltfish. Nothing is even nibbled on, if he is running a little late; but we are all positioned in a spot looking for his car, then the shout: "Look him deh!"  With his dimpled smile he'll pull in saying, “what's the hurry guys?” while we wave him into his reserved parking spot.

When Byce and I played "All Fours" we used the "Castara Signs" for communication. We are going to have an empty chair at the next lime so everyone could pin a note of their choosing.  

Byce: a cool, meticulous and honest dude, was a Joiner/Carpenter by trade and believe me, no fooling around with his trade.  One of his favourite sayings was “if you have to slam a door to close it, it needs adjusting!" 

Byce was always there with a helping hand, day or night.

He was a group person, and we were always better having him around...

One of the Greats and a giant.  The best always…
