Barbara Ann Gonsalves

Barbara (Barb) Ann Gonsalves, beloved wife of Terence (Terry) for 59 years, loving mother of Michael (Julia) and Suzanne, dear Nanny of Alyssa (Lorenzo) and Aidan, and Great Grandmother to Luca, passed peacefully into the presence of God surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Barb was born on September 20, 1936 in British Guyana to parents Raymond and Vera Jardim (deceased) and was sister to Tommy Jardim (deceased), Paul Jardim (deceased) and Michael Jardim (deceased). She attended boarding school in Barbados and high school at Loretto Abbey when she immigrated to Canada in 1948.

Barbara and Terry married on September 27, 1958. After the birth of their children, Barb returned to the workforce and enjoyed an eclectic career with new experiences across different businesses including financial services, retail and healthcare.

Barbara was a social person who took great pleasure in engaging in conversations with friends. Her interests spanned travelling, gardening, sports including tennis which she played competitively into her 70’s. And her competitiveness was never more apparent than on family game nights.

A visitation will be held at Paul O'Connor Funeral Home, located at 1939 Lawrence Ave. E, Scarborough, ON, M1R 2Y8, on Monday November 24, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The funeral mass will take place at St Lawrence Martyr Church, 2210 Lawrence Ave E, Toronto, ON, M1P 4M9, on Tuesday November 25, 2025, beginning at 10:00 am.

Following the funeral mass, a reception will be held at Paul O'Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E, Scarborough, ON, M1R 2Y8, Canada, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.

Entombment will occur at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Holy Family Mausoleum, 8361 Yonge St, Markham, ON, L3T 3M1, on Tuesday November 25, 2025, starting at 1:15 pm.
