Bruce Clarke, age 70, of Toronto, Ontario has passed away at his Toronto home, May 23, 2023. He is the cherished brother of Elizabeth (Russell) Goodyear, Joan (George) Michelau and David (Stephanie) Clarke, and is forever remembered by his long time best friend of 45 years, David Bushell. Bruce is also fondly remembered by Albert Noseworthy (deceased sister, Carolyn's spouse), and nieces and nephews and their young families.
Bruce is predeceased by his mother and father, Gertie (August 2013) and William Clarke (December 2008) and precious sister Carolyn Clarke (September 2021).
Bruce came to Toronto as a young man, working as an accountant, buying a house and settling down. He never forgot his family roots, visiting home to Newfoundland often, and his siblings homes in Alberta and Nova Scotia. In later years he bought his parents house in Gander, Newfoundland. He chose to live his life in Toronto and also spend time in Gander, NL, even after he developed Parkinson's and Diabetes. He chose to live his life on his own terms, even as his health declined. He was the family historian, and time with family was important and precious to him. He was a very giving man, taking pleasure in making others happy.
There will be a private family moment at the funeral home soon, and then Bruce is being cremated. He will be laid to rest in the family plot in Gander, Newfoundland. A celebration of his life will be held at the United Church in Gander at a later date.
For those who wish to honour Bruce, by giving to a charity, a contribution can be made in Bruce's memory to the Diabetes Canada or Parkinson's Canada.
